Whether working, praying, or playing, community living is an important aspect of religious life. Living and thriving in community is a skill that receives emphasis at the Common Franciscan Novitiate. Novices are given the opportunity to experience community in their daily lives as well as special times and unique situations.
House Meetings--The Novices and Novice Ministers meet weekly to make plans and discuss the nitty griity details of community life.
Community Time--Community
time is an unstructured time for relaxation and developing
relationships through games, puzzles, movies, conversation
and popcorn.
Intercommunity Novitiate--Novices participate in an intercommunity Novitiate Program in Wisconsin with men and women's communities from Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. This intercommunity group meets
approximately every six weeks for programs that focus on topics such as vows, transitions, and Church history.
