Pray is the heart and soul of the Common Franciscan Novitiate. Novices bring with them a variety of preferred prayer styles and methods. During the course of the Novitiate, a Community style of prayer emerges as the Novices explore and experience many different prayer styles both individually and as a group. Novices work together to plan prayer each week and have regular opportunities to lead the group in prayer.
Novices are given ample opportunity and resources to develop and deepen a life of prayer and reflection. Novice Ministers are available to meet regularly with the Novices to discuss prayer life and to suggest |
resources that might be available. Novices are encouraged to venture beyond the prayer style with which they are comfortable in order to appreciate the prayer style of others as well as to provide a repertoire of prayer on which they might rely.
